Evolving from the creative forces of today’s ever changing music, Rich Kids Radio was founded as a creative platform for upcoming artists, DJ’s and promoters. Lamont Williams, owner and disc jockey, wanted to ensure that there was fair representation of undiscovered music and events in the entertainment industry, especially in New York City. Performing as DJ Kid Nu was not his only concern; he wanted to bridge the gap between the different genres of music and increase exposure to those who may be overlooked. Until Rich Kids Radio’s launch there was a void in the form of a forum that allowed an established DJ to highlight talent from all aspects of urban music Brainstorming, He quickly developed the idea to allow him to play music that had yet to reach commercialized airwaves, as well as songs that were in heavy rotation, showcase unsigned talent and incorporate night life promoters as co-hosts to create an eclectic blend known as Rich Kids Radio.
As of today the show is videotaped for viewing on local cable networks, is streamed live on the internet via damatrixstudios.com, and has a weekly broadcasted show on Royal Radio 106.3fm in New York City. He also has various CD compilations that are distributed for promotional purposes, and is the newest member of the 1.fm Jamz radio family. The show reaches various demographical areas across the United States as well as some households in the United Kingdom. The viewers via the internet are encouraged to chat with members by way of the show’s chat room, where they feel that they’re connected with the show. The promoters announce new nightlife events at numerous venues amongst New York’s metropolitan area and artists make guest appearances. Lastly, viewers and listeners hear great music.
Mr. Williams has proven that he had a voice that needed to be heard. To his benefit, he discovered an audience that desired to hear what he had to say. Rich Kids Radio has provided a place where he will remain as a force to be reckoned with. No longer, will unsigned talent look for a big break with very little hope of being noticed; Lamont Williams aka DJ Kid Nu and Rich Kids Radio has paved the way.
